Installing Sims 2 Expansion Packs

I have a downloaded version of The Sims 2, i installed the Open For Business expansion pack, it installed perfectly but then it says it will check its updated, then it asks me to insert the sims 2 DVD to continue, i use daemon tools to open the iso file from my sims 2 download and it doesnt work, i also tried this with the celebration stuff pack

You have to say NO to all update prompts. Also, if you have more than one expansion pack, they must be installed in a certain order. If it is asking you to insert DVDs/CDs, then you don’t have the cracked version, or you cracked it incorrectly. Read the readme file that came with the version you downloaded. Usually you have to replace the main program (EXE file) with a cracked version from the DVD/CD after you install the program. PM me if you need the cracked EXE for any Sims expansion pack.

and treat yourself to a nice No-CD crack, this should keep it from asking for any disks from now
also, if u want to update, dont enable automatic updates, the above site has all the patches released to make your game latest version

Hmm. It’s been awhile since I have installed the Sims, but I know for sure I didn’t have to update it, or I bypassed it somehow. Make sure that you have read all the readme files that came with your download and that you are in fact using a cracked edition. Also, make sure you are cloaking with YASU when you are mounting the images. GET YASU here:

Copy yasu.exe into your daemon tools directory (“C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools”) and run it. Then click the “cloak” button to start cloaking.
Here is the crack for Open For Business:

Just copy the EXE in the archive into the correct program directory. Then double-click it to run the game.
“C:\Program Files\Maxis\Sims 2 Open For Business” is the program directory for Open for Business I believe. This crack should let you play the game without inserting any CDs, including mountng images. You can backup the old EXE if you want by renaming it, or just overwrite it. If it doesn’t prompt you to overwrite, then you probably have the wrong directory.
Here is the install order of the Sims 2 expansion packs:
1. Main Game
2. University
3. Nightlife
4. Holiday Party Pack
5. Open For Business
6. Family Fun Stuff
7. Glamour Life Stuff
8. Pets
9. Seasons
10. Happy Holiday Stuff
11. Celebration Stuff
12. H&M Fasion Stuff
13. Bon Voyage
14. – there might be more after this, but I am unsure of the correct order.
I am not sure if you need to install University, Nightlife and the Holiday Party Pack to use Open for Business, but I know for sure that it works if you do it that way. I had all the above packs installed at one time and they all worked fine without the CD.
EDIT: The releases and cracks that I have originated at the site mentioned above. It might be a good idea to visit.

Hey I have the same expension park problem, and I thought the best would be to install them in the right order. So I started with University, then Nightlife, and for some reason Nightlife uninstalled my university can anyone help?

I don’t think Nightlife un-installs University, it just makes it so you have to use the Nightlife executable to start the game. The University additions to the game should be there as well as those from Nightlife.

What happened is when I entered the game it said “The Sims 2 University Pack Has Been Uninstalled” and some other text I forgot. And the top left corner where it shows the University and Downtown Icon the University one is faded/empty. This happened right after installing night life.
