Well, I’ve never heard of the word semi… all I know is there are two methods which are tethered and untethered… I’m not a an apple user, but when I checked with him, this is what he said :S
tethered – once jailbreak done, and each time when phone goes off, you’ll have to connect phone device to itunes and get it switched on by running an app or something
untethered – once jailbreak done, you can simply turn on & off the device, it doesn’t request any..
PS: he also said, that untetherd is not availble for iOS ver 5… well, I’ve no idea about this.. but this is what I’ve got so far

FFS.
No one in this thread knows what they’re talking about, and like always, the OP is the laziest MFer on the planet.
jailbreak =/= unlock
…and you can’t unlock an iPhone 4 unless you’ve preserved your baseband from 4.0/4.0.1/4.0.2. You have no idea what that means, so that means you didn’t preserve your baseband.

What is your problem… you got some angry issues… anyways how should i know what unlock means when i never did unlock only jailbreak… so when you jailbreak you unlock the phone to use with any service? don’t you have to do something else than jailbreak a phone…
Answer #6
What part of jailbreak =/= unlock don’t you understand?

Yes.
I’ll say it again, this time incorrectly.
Despite my last two OBVIOUS comments, jailbreaking does, in fact, unlock your phone.
Have fun with it.

does it work for semi-tether jailbreak? Also can i use downloaded internet app like opera as replacement for the safari i notice on semi-tether jailbreak they said you can’t open safari or your emails so can i use a replacement opera for safari? there’s a opera web browser on the app store for free that works like it should

Don’t go about spreading false facts. I’ve got a tethered jailbroken iphone 4 on ios 5 with a baseband 4.11.08. But it isn’t unlocked. I can access Cydia, i can use cracked apps, but i can’t freaking use the damn phone for making calls. So i say it again, don’t spread false facts.
