How to Tweak Router?
August 5th, 2016
I was just wondering if anyone knows wheter or not I can tweak my router. I have a 2701HG-B. The interest I have is At&t DSL.

Thats the one I have right now. I get about 70-80kbs per download. I was just wondering if there was anyway to “tweak” and speed it up. Also I was wondering since I have 2 computers hooked up to it if I can give one more kbs then the other, basically just limiting the speed of one while increasing the other.
Please remember that ALL links must be coded, including, but not limited to, e-mail addresses, passwords, and internal links. Coded for you this time-glenny.
your download speed is determined by a number of factors including
-quality of line in your house
-type of lines from your house to the local exchange
-how far you are from the exchange
-the type/age of the equipment the ISP uses
-how loaded the network is
all of this is out of your hands
there is no way to modify your router to get better speeds
I dunno that router, but with Billion you can tell it to limit port usage to a certain amount.
You can tweak the router mtu, but that’s about all.
Make sure you have good line filters, not too many phones/fax/etc on the main circuit, and try twisting the router leads 3 twists every 10 cm (I dunno if that’s internet crapola, but some guy said it gave him about 12% extra speed…)
look around here for “onestep” i heard it was a tweaking program, i have no idea how to use it but.
