How to protect my files?

I need to encrypt or password protect entire partitions in my PC, so people cannot open the files even if they see them.
It’s also important that they cannot access the files even if they take out the hard disk and hook it as a slave to another PC.
Is there a program that can do this?

Any encryption package can do this. I use a shareware program called Encrypted Magic Folders for my financial stuff. A google search will turn it up. I’ve used it for years.

Truecrypt is decent as mentioned. If you are using Win 7 Ultimate you can use Bitlocker (built in)
