How to open a META file extension on windows

I had export all my email because my provider is closing their email service. I got them onto my conputer but no matter what I try I cannot open the files the file types are META.
I already wasted an hour on looking for a solution on google first suggestion I got was real player when I tried to use this it kept saying new updates need to be downloaded to open these files then when I clicked to download new updates it told me none were available.
Secondly I tried Altap Salamander which is suppose to be a META file viewer but this didn’t work either.
Please can someone help.

try renaming the file extension to “.htm” or “.html”
or just try dragging one into a browser window
how big are these files ?
if not to big open one in “notepad” and post the 1st few line here

Tried what was posted in this thread it’s not working does anybody else have any suggestions?
