How to join files ?

August 2nd, 2016

Hi, I’ve downloaded a few movies and I have to “join” them together, There are 4 files the first one has a “stuffit expander icon, and the rest look like they’re broken.
But I’ve done this before, just don’t remember what software did I use or how I did it
any ideas?

Split and Concat is probably what you need. Extensions are .001, .002, etc?

I’m assuming the extensions are .001, .002 etc….since the first icon is a stuffit expander icon and from memory i think it should be greyish in colour, just click on it even if the rest if the icons seem ‘broken’ (files have a white page as an icon), it should still join the files….alternatively like suggested use a program called ‘split and concat.’
Answer #3
yes that’s it. Is it a freeware?
Answer #4

For some reason Stuffit doesn’t always extract files that are split using this method. Best to get the original program. I dropped mine in the Utilities folder and use when needed.
Answer #6
Moved to Helpdesk.
For .001 .002 etc files, I use either Split and Concat or MacHacha
Answer #7
I use HJSplit
Answer #8
HJSplit works really well, and if in a crunch you can do a (in windows) copy /b *.0* filename.ext etc… (not sure if its in correct order but think it is)
or just a couple files copy /b file1 + file2 filename.ext
