How to increase upload speed for torrents?

September 5th, 2013

My speed is supposed to be 512 kb, but its like 5kb in utorrent, how do I increase it? Im getting banned from a lot of private trackers because I can not upload at all.
Any help? Or is there just a way to change the ratio by force?

What Private Trackers do you belong to? Some are hard to seed to because mostly everyone there has a Seed Box. I have a 6Mbps down and 2Mbps up and it’s hard even for me to keep a decent ratio at SCC.
The only things I can tell you to do is buy a seed box, download from FreeLeech torrents, and only select torrents that have alot of Leechers. The easiest torrents to seed to are always porn
512kb is probably your download speed. Go to Speedtest(dot)net to find out what your upload speed is.

torrentleach, im going to be banned in 6 days after download NFS THE RUN. Stupid mistake on my part. I feel so bad, theres no way I can seed back 15 Gb, I should have stayed on TPB or downloaded from here.
As well, I download at 1.5 – 2 MB/sec, and my isp promised 512 KB…

Your best bet is to get a Seed Box. Of course this will cost you money every month but they really aren’t that expensive.
I don’t know anything about TL but I bet most users do have Seed Box’s. Some places will allow you to pay them money in exchange to improve your ratio.
If you wanna go down that road, I’d contact one of their Admins or MODs.
Nothing else I can really tell ya unless they have FreeLeech content then I’d suggest downloading one of those to improve your ratio.

Start by doing this, and remember that network speeds are metered in bits, not bytes.
Click share when your done and copy the link to the speedtest image and post it here.
Also, there are a few settings that control how you upload.
You don’t need to have high upload speed to reach high seeding goals.
Just set your torrent client to not stop seeding until you have reached X% of how much u downloaded.

1. Your ratio. If you set to 100% it will not stop seeding until you have uploaded 100% of what you downloaded.
2. This will allow you to continue uploading (seeding) after you reached your % goal in number one at a slower speed.
3. Limit your upload rate to something below your maximum upload speed to prevent lag due to uplink bottleneck.
4. How many of upload slots are available. This is the number of people that can make connections to you and download.
