You must be saving it as a .jpg or something, save your document as a .png and try again

Indeed, you’re probably saving as .jpg, which doesn’t support transparency, you need, as said before .gif or .png. .png supports better transparency then gif (gif only has trnasparent or not transparent) but gif is supported on all browsers, IE can’t display .png properly.

IE 6 cannot display transparent png properly, BUT IE 7 can

That’s why you shouldn’t use transparent PNGs at all (at least not in webdesign).

if the problem is inside of ps, just do layer > new layer
and then delete the background layer..

BIG PROBLEM:
When I go to FILE>> there the SAVE FOR WEB is not enabled…in other words I cant click on it…
When I go to FILE>>SAVE AS >> The save as >png file in not available….Its jpeg, psd,.pict file etc….There is no PNG…
I use CS2

oops, im on CS3, anyways that dosnt makes much diff
CHK THIS
http://~ Disallowed image host ~/6ybr8kn.jpg
I have opened a new image RGB + transarent in CS3 , and by default the Save for Web option is enabled, may b in CS2 its not.
If Save for web is not working dont worry its only for animated image purpose.
TRY LIKE THIS
– Make a new image, – select RGB + transparent mode
– then do what ever u wanna do on the image
– then try SAVE / SAVE AS
see here: Image
in that, u must b asked to put file name, under it there will b the file type option
in that PSD will b selected by default i suppose (again im’ on cs3 not cs2 n never used it before + options in cs2 are diff than cs3 might b)
– then select there PNG/GIF (jpg or jpeg dosnt supports transparency) Regards
