How to buy a House
February 5th, 2020
Thanks in advance!
maybe a estate agent is the best person to take advice from, they know all the small details as well.
yea the thing is that they are only after the money and i wanted to get some info from people that have already bought a house. so you know hand on experience is very importent
Well. what questions i should ask . if you are asking the home owner be careful they will tell you what you want to hear.
Don`t Don`t rush into anything, take your time. if you have people there that do home inspections use them when you find one you like. Or you could end up like my son, his first house had a cracked basement. he found that out the first heavy rainfall.
I ended up ripping his whole bmt out and rebuilding for him after he fixed the cracks. And that is what he did rushed into it.
Good Luck
We thought we’d covered every thing when we bought our house, but got screwed by the bank because of a mix-up. A friends of ours is a real estate agent, so that helped us with questions.
– Get the house inspected by a professional (they check the structure, look for rot, termites etc).
– If you’re taking a home loan, add a bit to the interest to see if you can still afford the repayments if interest rates go up.
– Check with the local council to see if anything is being planned in the area. You don’t want the neighbours house being knocked down and 30 apartments being built, blocking out the sun.
– Get a good solicitor to check all paperwork.
– Don’t just check out the house during the day. Drive arround the suburb at night to see if it’s suitable/safe.
Edit: You can always check out “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Buying and Selling a Home”. It’s free to read on-line:

this house is brand new built straight from the ground recently so what should i ask on that part? Thnx for all the replies!
I guess you could try and do some research on the builder (verify the credentials). If it’s a stand-alone builder you could ask for references and check with other people who have bought one of his homes. Same again if it’s a building company that construct houses as part of a new estate. Get a copy of the contract and check who is liable if there’s a constuction fault. I guess it’s like a new car warranty.
ok so lets say that the building was done perfectly with no faults then wat would be the next step?
