Hotspot Shield by AnchorFree is probably one of the last resorts to use. They provide one of the worst services around. Its limited to 5GB per month, ads are directed directly to your browser. These ads are in the form of pop-ups and landing pages and videos; plus your browsing habits are also tracked so that they can modify the ads sent to your browser based on your browsing habits. A lot of their IP’s are also banned for spamming.
This is probably the last recommendation I would ever give anyone. You should look into a VPN, their cheap and effective if you get the right one.
EDIT: I am sorry you were recommend this service with out being disclosed of any of the details. There is a new VPN service currently FREE while in beta, you can give them a try at no cost.

I have been trying that, it’s not too bad speed wise from here in the UK
@datfss
– you can also try TOR browser bundle

Tails is pretty good, you stick it on a USB flash drive and can boot into computers with it, I use it in work.

I take it you downloaded and installed the version of OpenVPN that was linked in your e-mail when you registered at that site ?
You need to download these configuration files from the website

http://real-vpn.com/files/realvpn-us.zip
http://real-vpn.com/files/realvpn-nl.zip
http://real-vpn.com/files/realvpn-uk.zip
http://real-vpn.com/files/realvpn-de.zip
http://real-vpn.com/files/realvpn-fr.zip

Unzip them all and copy them into Program Files > OpenVPN > config
You have a AUTH file named “realvpn” – open that with notepad
and put your username, login, and port in like this

thisismyusername
realvpnXXXmlidX
22090

Then save it.
You should now be able to connect using the OpenVPN GUI.
If you want to connect via PPTP Servers, then you have to add via Network Connections. OpenVPN is slightly more secure.

I personally use this program to get past firewalls in my workplace:
http://ultrasurf.us/
It doesn’t need to be installed and it runs off a usb stick.
Answer #11
Just a side note, but do expect to be required to pay for proper VPN if you’re a demanding user; real-vpn will eventually go subscription-only and free VPN’s are really (and I do mean really) bad generally.
