How Do You Play “Left 4 Dead 2” Online?

It’s been awhile since I actually played my copy of Left 4 Dead 2
I have played my 7.84GB Razor release of the game online before in the past using QTracker.
But all the latest patch work for the game would just confuse me, it seemed like their would be a update like every other day for this game that you had to apply
Sometimes the updates worked for me an I was able to game with others online, but for the most part a lot of the updates failed an I was not able to game online, so I just gave up playing the game all together. ‘
It’s been awhile since I have played, all I know is that I have like over a 1GB of patch work for the game, I don’t know what is what.

Maybe some of you guys can help me sort this out, an let me know what I need an don’t need in this folder, an what I might also need to download some additional files.
I have not played this online for maybe like over a yr?

Use garena/tunngle to play online
1) Get in the folder REGFIX and run the file for your system [X86-X64].
2) Download Garena and install it.

3) Get in the room of Left 4 Dead 2 and click on settings.
4) Set your path of left4dead2.exe
default: C:/Program Files/Left 4 Dead 2/left4dead2.exe
5) At bootstrap parameters you don't need to set anything.
Note: Normally you would need +sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0 +sv_lan 1 but they are autoexecuted when the game runs from the file autoexec.cfg
one more thing already implemented for you
How to change your name:
1) Double click on file IniGen it will prompt you a black window asking your name.
2) Fill your name in and press Enter. You are done
When you close the game an error message appears, just ignore it, it doesn't affect your game.
LAN Server
That's easy: You just need Hamachi. Create your own or join an existing network (your friend's). Keep the Hamachi running and enter the game. In the console ( that button right above TAB, under Esc) and type your Hamachi's IP. For example: ip x.xxx.xxx.xxx
Then type "sv_consistency 0" and choose a map (just type "map" and you'll see them). That's it, you can start the game.
That was for the host - the host must do this every time you want to play. Now for the client:
In the console type "connect" and insert host's IP address and that's all, you can join the game now.

NOTE: Your and your friend's version of the game must be the same, Hamachi doesn't.

Dude the game is like £3 on steam and regularly is on sale for even cheaper than that.
It would save you all this hassle. I bought it on release but I normally buy my MP ‘specfic’ games that I want the rest get cracked…
I’ve racked up over 400 hours on the game since then and was easily the best 30 quid i spent … but the deal is sweeter for you because its dirt cheap now…
