Home network file sharing

I use eset security suite and it seems to block file sharing on my network[via a wireless and wired router] but it does this randomly sometimes the network is working but file sharing is not , i restart the pc and the folder are now visible in my network places
anything i can do or any software i can used cause it is kind of annoying having to use a pendrive every time i want to watch a film on my laptop
ps removing the firewall completly is not an option thanks
