Screen sharing on local network

December 27th, 2013

Hi
My local network consists of 3 PCs, A dell laptop and a Mac Mini.
I have a working network set-up (file and printer sharing).
I want to able to share screens on computers across the entire network.
I want it to be fast and easy to start a session (it would be good not to have to enter the IP address of the computer you want to start screen sharing with ect… It would be nice just to click share with PC1. PC1 accepts the screen sharing and then it works).
I want the software to either be free or, if it does cost money, I want it to be crackable – I DON’T WANT TO SPEND ANY MONEY
Is there any software I can use that will do this.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks but thanks not what I’m looking for
Tight Projector doesn’t let PC A control the screen of PC B it only allows PC A to view PC B’s screen as it is controlled by the user of PC B.
Also I doesn’t work between Mac and PC
Any other suggestions or am I wasting my time?

Agreed. UltraVNC is a great free VNC client and server package.
Download here:

Just run the server on whatever computer(s) you want to share the screens. Then on whatever computer you want to view a screen with, connect to any one of the computer’s running a VNC server. You can connect to control the computer, or just to observe. UltraVNC is compatible with Windows, linux, and MacOS X (if compiled from source).
If you have MacOS X 10.4 or above, there is a VNC Server included with the OS. It uses the same protocol as UltraVNC, so you can use a VNC running on Windows to view/control the Mac or vice versa. Here’s a tutorial on how to enable it:
