Iv got a laptop with a Athlon neo X2 dual core 1.6ghz
2gig ram 250gig hard drive iv got ATI Radeon 3200 graphics if i was to buy a bluray drive for it would it either playback bluray
or record bluray
but most importantly can i backup bluray to play back on my system.
I downloaded cyberlink advisor and it says my system fails because i do not have the correct software and it says my cpu etc is unknown.
Image
the laptop is new and recent and supports high definition video playback
however not sure about bluray.

Answer #1
playback bluray
probably, as playback of HDCP content is governed by grfx card & monitor supporting HDCP
record bluray
nope
backup bluray
probably, google “rip blu-ray” for info on that
Answer #2
if your trying to “rip/copy blurays…I would consider a diff alternative…purchase a WD HD media box and hook a external HDD with bluray mkv files off here…plays them in up to 1080p on your tv…something to consider…i use it and they look amazing on my 37”

I would but a full 1080p rip on here takes up a lot of bandwidth and i only have 30gig a month on a slow connection.
Its ok downloading 700mb files but 3 – 4 gig + takes time and bandwidth So it would be easier to rip.
not sure if this system can handle it.
I know the graphics card can the ram is good enough but i am not sure if a 1.6ghz dual core is good enough.
Answer #4
probably handle it, would just be slow
Answer #5
I think it could handle it. If it takes time to do that is fine.
