Help getting MiniDV video off the tape to Hard Drive

I have a MiniDV CamCorder Im trying to get the Media off the tape but Im not having any luck getting it off I have a Firewire cable hooked up to it and all but I only have the option to Capure video I dont wanna capture anything I wanna get the Media off the tape and put on to a CD or DVD to play in my DVD player.
Anyone know of a site that explains step by step how to do that?

p.s. converxtodvd is the best program to convert any video and burn it to play on dvd…

Surely your camcorder comes with a software CD/DVD to transfer the files to your PC…

PV-GS12 They said Use DV Studio But the only software I find that is DV Studio is Pinnacle Studio 12 However I dunno how to use Pinnacle Studio 12 to export the video off the tape to my hard drive.
The thing I wanna do is say I go out of town and go on a trip I wanna record what I do come home and put it on a DVD and watch it on my DVD Player however I must first figure out how to rip the DV and save the Media thats on the DV Tape and save it to my Hard Drive I cant figure it out when I use Pinnacle Studio 12 and go to edit movie there are no movies when I go to Capture It records what im doing on the camera I dont wanna capture because I already have what I want captured on the tape

Im using a DV cable but I have a USB for it to think you can upload DV Studio for me or get me a link to it or is Pinnacle Studio DV Studio?

Thanks, Now all I gotta do is figure out if my Firewire port on my board is bad or if its a software problem but I know that my camcorder dont need DV Studio on my other PC I just plug the Firewire in to my pc and plug it in to the cam corder and it puts up to capture video using windows movie maker im format see if it fixes my problem if it dont then its a gotta be a bad FireWire port on my board bad thing my board only has 1 port XD
