HDMI to VGA for dual monitor setup?

Yes there are such things. Most computer shops would have a cable or double headed converter for this.

the dvi port is being used by my main monitor
will the 2nd monitor work off of the GPU’s DVI port
either monitor have a DVI port ?
convert GPU HDMI to DVI (both digital) and use the GPU’s DVI port for the 2nd monitor (analog)
you need a “HDMI to VGA converter box” to go from HDMI (digital) to VGA (analog)
google “HDMI to VGA converter box”

Well the thing is I already have the DVI port being converted to VGA with an adapter. Both monitors are only vga. I’m guessing I could possibly go hdmi to dvi with an adapter then dvi to vga, but that is two adapter and a cord plugged into a single port. It probably wouldn’t even fit with the other dvi-vga adapter in place.

don’t think that would work as DVI (some support VGA) & HDMI are digital input and VGA is analog (90% of DVI out also support VGA)
your GPU’s DVI out also supports VGA
but the HDMI connection is just digital and you would need a converter box to make it analog
