Hackintosh: not identifying headphones?

January 27th, 2020

So, I have another question relating to my Hackintosh installation. I used iAtkos S3 to install Snow Leopard on my non-Apple machine, and it’s all working perfectly except for one minor detail now. When I open up iTunes or attempt to play back media, it completely overlooks any headphones I have plugged in, and plays from the speakers instead. I really need to fix this, as I listen to a lot of music when using my computer, and I’d hate to have to stop enjoying music when using OS X (which is a shame because it’s slowly becoming my primary OS ). I have tried two sets of headphones, and both of them work. Both of them use the standard audio jack and I do not own any headphones with a USB connection, meaning I cannot test those out. I have no idea what is causing my problem, but I’m hoping someone can tell me seeing as I am not an advanced Macintosh user. Are there any ways for me to fix this problem, as it’s the one thing that is stopping OS X from being my favorite OS. Thanks!
Answer #1
Compatibility issue…?
Answer #2
Possibly, but I’m not so certain. I installed OS X on this machine in the past but due to the fact I could not get it to work, I uninstalled it. With that installation I was able to use my headphones to listen to my music.
Answer #3
Are the headphones plugged into the right spot and if they don’t plug into your speakers are your speakers off?
Answer #4
Yeah, my headphones are plugged into the correct port, which is located on my laptop. I can’t honestly fathom why they have decided to cease working when used with OS X.
