^but I will buy it from another website something I found worth only $70-75
my current specs are:
Intel C2D 2.66Ghz
4GB DDR2-RAM
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT(broken)
Realtek HD sound
500GB SATA-2 HDD
do you think I can run 2011-or-later games on max in this videocard?
Do all Geforce GT 4xx cards have backwards compatibility or something I have no idea if my motherboard will support it though
Mine motherboard is Asus P5VD2-VM SE its ancient but it does the job
http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5VD2VM_SE/
It can only support C2D processors so I can’t go for quads but maybe upgrade to 3.2Ghz but that is waste of money. Will the videocard be backwards compatible with this motherboard?
Please don’t suggest “go buy a new PC blablablah” I’m only a casual player and I don’t have budget for a brand new PC its going to degrade quality over 3 years anyway
From the two stated, HD5670 is faster.
Both the cards are pretty weak, so you might only be run the newer games in all settings low-med.
As long as your MoBo has a PCIe x16 slot (which it does) you can install a graphics card without a worry.
If you wish to buy a Graphics card then consult the chart below and try to buy a card as high in the chart as possible by your budget. Before you buy a new card, make sure that your case and power supply can accommodate it.
If the above chart is NOT showing then kindly use the link below

I would reccomend getting a second hand gtx 260 or hd 5770 off ebay for £50
@Shan_Jahn
Thanks for the details
From your current selection i would take a : HD5670
Is there any particular reason you are getting only these ?
You want to get a reasonable card to keep up with your old one, which was top of the range only a few years ago!
Your machine can support a nice mid range card OK.
