Growing Pains – All Seasons (DVDs) – Need Good Encoding Help

August 5th, 2013

Hi,
I’ve been able to get my hands on all of the seasons of the dvd rips, yes dvd rips, of Growing Pains even though they haven’t been distributed to the public yet. I’ve tried encoding a few projects of my own in the past and ended up spending a lot of time trying a lot of different programs having very little success.
So, if there is someone out there who has a lot of confidence in their encoding abilities and wouldn’t mind taking one of my mpeg streams and spending some time finding the right combination of settings to make these episodes look really good, I would emulate the settings using the same program to encode the rest of them and then post. I need for each file to be from 200-220MB. That’s the deal; any takers or challengers?
Warner was planning on releasing season 2 in 2011, but sales of the first season didn’t do as good as expected, and it hasn’t performed well enough on the few stations that still play the episodes. It’s not looking good for the release of future seasons; it’s very doubtful. Despite this, there are plenty of people out there who still love this show and are furious and want their kids to see it, and for good reason; the show was really good, it just competed with a lot of other big names and somehow didn’t get the attention it deserved. I’m not sure how Roseanne ever outperformed this show, it’s puzzling; Full House – yes, Roseanne – no.
All of my posts are downloads that bring something new not only to wbb, but the internet, as 90% of my postings can’t be found on any torrent, search engine, or bb. Thanks to all those who contribute their resources in bringing something unique for all of us to enjoy, especially for all of us who once upon a time couldn’t afford to buy any of this stuff.

edit: “just realized i posted this in tv shows, oops” Well, i’ll leave it here just in case someone out there is motivated enough to help me get this out there sooner.

Hi, have you tried a website like sendspace? You could also try something like megaupload.com. I’m not an encoder myself so I understand your trouble.

Nevermind, these aren’t exactly what they were purported to be. Thanks anyway, and perhaps we’ll see season 3 on dvd in the next decade.

The best encoder I used to encode DVD to MKV or MP4 is Handbrake. The quality is outstanding.
