I left school at 13. It doesn’t bother me one bit. I’m not really good at grammar either. Please don’t take this the wrong way as i mean no disrespect to you. If your first language is english (as this is a global forum and it can’t be taken for granted), then your use of words also needs help too. As you’re using the wrong words for some of them.
Answer #3
Unless grammar is important to your life when communicating with others (mainly in work) then just forget about it matey. The way I look at any language is ‘if you can understand what’s written’ forget about how it’s formatted …….. communicating with others isn’t all about perfect grammar! That said, if you want to improve your grammar try night school where you get people of all ages attending.
Answer #4
thx for the reply’s
yes i know my spells are bad and grammar i am english and in the uk.
these problems are a problem since too many jobs needs good spelling and grammar and word order.
Answer #5
I suggest you work with an English teacher on this.
Answer #6
i would do that but im not one with that kind of money to pay for the lessons. my jobcenter is not good and only got me my lvl2 literacy ive been asking for the free funded one but they will not put me on it.
Answer #7
don’t wanna sound like a dick but have you just tried reading a few books they can help? A lot of my foreign friends learn t by reading etc.
your grammar isn’t that bad compared to some people if I’m honest.
Answer #8
thx ste# all i do is real books i love them lol.
my first post was due to being in a rush as i had the doctors to go to, i can do better but not what i should be doing at my age im doing it like a 5 year old to be honest.
Answer #9
I’ll be honest, I leant alot by watching movies and tv shows and I dont know why but I always have subtitles on for whatever im watchin’ im so used to it now.
So get yourself down to the Movies section and download and watch 5 movies today!
And another thing, keep bugging your advisor to put you on the free funded course, say to em that it’ll increase your chances of getting a job and isnt that the whole point of the job centre, to get people back into work. It is extremely competitive if you’re looking for a job, there’s like 200+ applying for 1 vacancy, its just too difficult getting a job, even if you have a degree or whatever.
Answer #10
thx adil2010
i watch films while in bed but never have subtitles on never been one for them as i like to hear and see what is going on than to read.
the job centers in the midlands are no good unless you don’t speak english then you get everything.

Lesson Number 1
Each new sentence should start with a capital letter. This also applies to sentences contained within quotation marks.
Examples:
● At 4 o'clock, he stood up and said: "You can all leave if you wish."
● He was considered "The sexiest man ever to come out of Barnsley".

I like you, left school at an early age. never really learned anything. the grammar I’ve learned is from member’s on here and different forums/websites. sit back, smoke a joint and learn. it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it, bro.
quick tips:
your and you’re = your = something that belongs to you. you’re = you’re a noob. etc.
they’re = they are. their = their forum = something that belongs to them. there = there’s so many people, etc.
to = we went to school. too = too many, I had too many cakes. I ate too much and so on……
that’s what people mainly ~ censored ~ up with, man. trust me, took me a while to grammar that shit, ha.
but yes, I’m no expert.
good luck.

Using lessons 1 & 2, mentioned above… Correct your sentence above.
thx for the information i will give it a go did not know they did sites for this stuff
You should be able to make two obvious corrections. There are “more” corrections that could be made, but just by using what you have learnt in lessons 1 & 2, you can make two corrections to your statement above
—–EDIT—–
Just as I posted this, you have made another post using what you have learnt already. Capital letters at the beginning of the sentance.
Note: The letter “I”, is always uppercase.
For example:
I came here due to I know most of you mite be in the same way as me and it just shows I was rite about this.
Answer #17

Answer #18
Ok so even while “i” is not at the start of a sentence it is still a capital letter like “I”.
So it would be, I posted in the help section as I knew people would be able to help on my problem.
Answer #19
Yes, that is correct!
Answer #20
as said above, that’s correct. you’re learning fast.
Answer #21
Ok I think I got the hang of this and hope I get better at it.
Thank you Head, I will head over there once i have had more sleep.
Thank you all for this kick start it has really helped a lot.
Answer #22
Thank you Head, I will head over there once i have had more sleep.
The I (when standalone) or when you write i’m should always be capital, Try to remember that.
So it would be, I posted in the help section as I knew people would be able to help on my problem.
That is for the most part correct, Except for the last part at least.
Let me fix that for you:
I posted in the help section as I knew people would be able to help me with my problem.
Some more:
I came here due to i know most of you mite be in the same way as me and it just shows i was rite about this.
“I came here due to” does not go hand in hand with the rest of your sentence.
Usually, “due to” is used only to specify a reason as to why you can’t do something, I.E:
“due to a knee injury, I won’t be able to come to work today”
so “I came here because” would be more correct. Also “i know most of you mite be in the same way as me” should be “I know some of you might be in the same situation as I am”
saying most people might be in the same situation is just not right. Now I’ll point out some of your spelling mistakes:
mite = might
rite = right
im = I’m ow = how
uk = UK (should always be spelled like that)
job centers = job centres (in the UK, center is spelled centre)
great ful = grateful
And just for the record, while using “I am” is fine, You could (in most cases) use “I’m” instead
what I mean is, It’s fine replacing “I am” with “I’m” when your making a statement, I.E
“I am happy” to “I’m happy” but for example, If someone asks you “You’re British aren’t you?”
You cannot answer them “I’m” as that would be ridicules, You would say “I am” or “Yes I am” Also, It’s possible to use “there’s” instead of “there is”, Just thought I’d point that out while I’m at it.
Also, When you’re referring to a certain language, country or nationality
the first letter should be always capital. I.E English England Irish That’s all for now. But just so you know, I start each first word after a comma with a capital
letter because I like it, But technically, It’s not grammatically correct, So you shouldn’t do
that if you write a letter/resume or if your boss dictates you something.
Answer #23
I start each first word after a comma with a capital
letter because I like it

That’s called …………. how to bastardize the English language Roberto ……… it ain’t just ‘technically’ wrong, it’s totally wrong ………… still, it gave me a giggle!
Answer #24

Usually, "due to" is used only to specify a reason as to why you can't do something, I.E:
"due to a knee injury, I won't be able to come to work today"
so "I came here because" would be more correct.

You cannot use ‘more correct’, either something is correct or incorrect, in this case ‘more accurate’ or ‘more appropriate’ would be more fitting to the bill.
Just making the most of being able to correct you for a change
Answer #25
Whew!!! That was a close one!!…
… when I saw the word “grammar!” in the Help section, I rushed over here expecting to assist an old lady in trouble…
What?

Answer #26
Thank you guys
I spell job center as when I use to type it in on Google It kept showing that Instead of job centre.
I have always had problems with the word might, As you can see I keep putting mite.
No King I am 26 years old, It’s just the school I went to kind of bullied me due to my problem so I left school at 14 years old.
