Gaming PC ( i5-4670 ) – [your opinion]

February 9th, 2020

Hello forum people
I’m currently bussy picking my part for a pc I’m going to build.
I would like to have your opinion or tips.
At the moment I’m using a dell laptop (i7 1;6GHz, 4GB RAM, and about 4 years old). I finally have some more space available so that’s why I’m looking at desktops again.
This build will be mostly used for Gaming and light graphical applications.
Any idea if the non-stock CPU cooling would be necessary?

You don’t really need most of the things.
Don’t need to buy Windows, don’t need extra fans or coolers.
Concentrate on a good video card, avoid WD greenpower like a plague.

Thanks for the tips, I’ll keep them in mind.
WD green was indeed not such a good choise, I’ll need someting around 7200 RPM

You dont need any aftermarket cooling. What come with it is good enough unless your going to overclock or putting your pc to the max. Which then will generate a lots of heat therefore getting better cooling is the way to go.
Like Sword said. Concentrate on your graphic card. Thats what game use the most. if you have a bit of extra money try investing in a SSD…. and regular hard drive is for storage

What’s your budget?
You’re from the Netherlands, Right? The ” Windows 64 NL” part kinda gives it away!
Do you really need a wireless keyboard/mouse? Unless you’ll be sitting a large distance away from it ,This would be a waste of money.

I disagree, Aftermarket coolers are generally quieter (Not to mention provide better cooling performance)

He already has an SSD in his build actually^

I agree with the quieter and better cooling but the OP ask if its necessary. Its better if he get then but it wont get overheat if he dont. Dont get me wrong. I am always up to aftermarket cooler and watercooling since it provide the better/best cooling. But its not needed unless hes going to overclock… adding voltages and things like that.
My bad on the ssd part. I skim read his spec x.x

If your going air cool.
Get the NH-D14. Im not sure if it will fit your case or not. It fit fine with mine with a few mm to spare. Extremely good air cooling. But your ram need to be low profile.
