November 1st, 2013

my aunt’s pc is having an error, she turn the pc off properly last night then when she turned it on, a problem occured..
theres a “Floppy disk fail (40)” on the boot screen and the keyboard seems to be locked.. after a restart i was able to strike the “del” button leading me to the bios screen.. but it lead me to nowhere.. for i have no choice i hit the save without exit then it leads me into a black non responding screen.. so i restarted then it boot up and again, cant hit f8,f9 or even delete.. numlock has no light… plus theres no floppy disk on her unit so why this is happening and how will i fix this?? thanks.
tried to google but theres no solved problem.

Change Keyboard? And then….Go in BIOS and disable Floppy disk, and remove it from Boot list…
Answer #2
this may have been caused by a low mobo battery, the one that holds the bios config
how old a PC ?
if you can’t work in the BIOS you can try the “reset_CMOS” jumper on the mobo which sets the BIOS to defaults

open your machine case, make sure both the power and data cables are connected properly , it would be better if you try to re-insert them. Also make sure that the data cable is inserted properly into the motherboard.take out the RAM and keep that out for few minutes then reinsert and try again

We don’t even know yet if his Aunt has a floppy drive in her pc, lol, but that would be the obvious starting point if she has.
*edit, my bad

so disabling it in the BIOS is the way to go.
