File in my computer responsible for .RAR encryped folders?

January 29th, 2020

I recently downloaded some .RAR files which have an encrypted password that I don’t know, and I heard somewhere that a file in the system 32 folder might have something to do with encrypted files, but does anyone know exactly which file it is, and would I have to delete it?

If it does have a file it’s most probably only a temporary one to store which rar was opened from where or some other directories, I’d doubt it’d contain the actual password, it’d make more sense (and be more secure) for the password to be encrypted inside the actual .rar file.
I’m pretty sure there are a few password cracking programs that can be found around the internet, although most are probably dangerous.

No system 32 file provides or controls access to rar files , they have a password assigned when they are initaly created you can delete every file but it will remain encrypted. if you are stuck for the password state the name maybe someone knows it,,

So could there be a file associated with WinRAR (in the program files) that is responsible for keeping the encryption? If so couldn’t I just delete that?

Winrar just handles how the .rar files are supposed to be opened, created and updated, anything related to a single .rar file (or a linked group), be it the additional info or an encrypted password, would all be kept inside the .rar file itself.
Basically, the only file you can delete to get rid of the password is the .rar file itself.
Like threeothree said, ask the place you got the rar file from for the password or just use a password cracking alternative.
