External HDD corrupted maybe?
August 7th, 2016
Any ideas on how to get my External hdd to show up again,I’ve looked all over Google but a majority of the articles I have a less complicated problem, they basically have access to the disk in disk management, where I do not..
Thanks in advance thanks a bunch!
Image one of the disk management tab
Image two of the device manager result
(Sorry if I wasnt supposed to safelink those pictures, was unsure how images go on here)
Images not working, Re-upload to this host:
http://imageplay.net
Use the Direct Image Link and code it proper:

or just highlight it and then click on the IMG button (if making a full reply) no need to use safelinking. SL should only be used when you make a topic on one of the download sections, So the link would last longer.
Got it thank you, did a bit more research, think my hdd may be beyond saving, a thread I read basically said that it is garbage.
But I find it very hard to believe because it was working perfectly fine this morning
Provide a raw *UNCUT* image of disk management. And For the record, It’s not beyond
saving, Even if it’d turn out there’s nothing you can do (yourself) then you could still recover
it with the help of a professional data recovery company (But it’d be expensive)
As I was going to disk management this popped up, which didn’t pop up earlier
After clicking ok, this pops up
Finally here is the image of disk management without any pop ups
P.S Used this application called HDSentinel this is what it gave me
There are 3 possible causes:
1. Faulty USB cable.
2. Bad enclosure.
3. Bad HDD.
Try replacing the USB cable. If that won’t do it (and you care about the data) then you could try opening the enclosure and connecting the HDD directly to a desktop computer (or purchase another 2.5″ SATA Enclosure and use that) that way you’ll know if it’s the enclosure or HDD at fault, However there are two things you should be aware of:
1. By opening the enclosure, You’ll void the warranty.
2. Even if you open it, There are no guarantees you’ll be able to actually connect it any other way, That’s because sometimes external HDD manufacturers integrate the USB connector directly to the HDD’s circuit board (instead of using a detachable USB bridge) in order to cut costs, And if that is the case here, Then it’s just not gonna be doable.
Tried a different cable, still no luck. Probably gonna look on youtube for a video on how to remove the hd, thanks for your help
