External HDD corrupted maybe?

August 7th, 2016

Ok so i have a fairly new hard drive (My passport WD 1 terabyte) When i connected the external hdd to my Laptop this morning, the prompt for scan and fix came up (usually does every time when connected) I decided to click Scan and Fix for the first time, it finished and I closed the application, but now every time I connect the external hdd to anything it doesn’t show up at all.. I have tried looking for the hdd in Computer Management with the Disk management tool, but all that it shows is the normal C drive , the recovery partition and a blank named partition shown below. As stated before the external hard drive is 1 tb in size, in the picture, the un named partition is only 100mbs in size.. I have looked in the device manager, and the external hdd does show up there! pic is also below
Any ideas on how to get my External hdd to show up again,I’ve looked all over Google but a majority of the articles I have a less complicated problem, they basically have access to the disk in disk management, where I do not..
Thanks in advance thanks a bunch!

Images not working, Re-upload to this host:
http://imageplay.net
Use the Direct Image Link and code it proper:
or just highlight it and then click on the IMG button (if making a full reply) no need to use safelinking. SL should only be used when you make a topic on one of the download sections, So the link would last longer.

Got it thank you, did a bit more research, think my hdd may be beyond saving, a thread I read basically said that it is garbage.
But I find it very hard to believe because it was working perfectly fine this morning

Provide a raw *UNCUT* image of disk management. And For the record, It’s not beyond
saving, Even if it’d turn out there’s nothing you can do (yourself) then you could still recover
it with the help of a professional data recovery company (But it’d be expensive)

As I was going to disk management this popped up, which didn’t pop up earlier

After clicking ok, this pops up

Finally here is the image of disk management without any pop ups

P.S Used this application called HDSentinel this is what it gave me

There are 3 possible causes:
1. Faulty USB cable.
2. Bad enclosure.
3. Bad HDD.
Try replacing the USB cable. If that won’t do it (and you care about the data) then you could try opening the enclosure and connecting the HDD directly to a desktop computer (or purchase another 2.5″ SATA Enclosure and use that) that way you’ll know if it’s the enclosure or HDD at fault, However there are two things you should be aware of:
1. By opening the enclosure, You’ll void the warranty.
2. Even if you open it, There are no guarantees you’ll be able to actually connect it any other way, That’s because sometimes external HDD manufacturers integrate the USB connector directly to the HDD’s circuit board (instead of using a detachable USB bridge) in order to cut costs, And if that is the case here, Then it’s just not gonna be doable.

Tried a different cable, still no luck. Probably gonna look on youtube for a video on how to remove the hd, thanks for your help
