i cant figure it out of what is going on, here are the results of what is stopping
please help and don’t say “reboot”, it works but is a pain in the back side
it could be if your running vista or 7, that the computer might be using hardrive for readyboost
Just unplug it 1 time won’t hurt
u left out a “d” on the title its HDD for hard disk drive
u left out a "d" on the title its HDD for hard disk drive
good thinking, we wouldn’t want to mix this up with Home Depot or Holocaust Denier…
You can still just pull it out as long as you have saved whatever it is you want saved on it. I know the instructions to those little USB drives say not to do that, but it’s fine. It happenens to me sometimes too. I just pull it out. No big. None of mine have ever suffered any damage from doing it.
you say pull it out, trust me, not a great idea. i have a 1/2 TB external hdd sitting around here that is supposed to be safe to remove, it now has a corrupted file system to the point where the diagnostic tools wont recognise it.
ready boost is permantly disabled, has been the entire time
just unplug it or shutdown you pc.
I thought it was a small Flash Drive USB like the little green one in your picture. Did you by any chance try and change the drive type at all with the cmd or something? If not, you can always remove the HDD from the external shell and plug it into your computer as an internal storage drive. At least that way you should be able to move any files around or save anything you need to your current HDD. If your computer can’t read it as an internal storage unit, then that would be a good place to start your troubleshooting. At least then you would know for sure that it isn’t a problem with the USB connector(s)… You have tried the drive in more than one USB port, right?
