.Exe won’t start after double clicking.

October 16th, 2013

Well – like in the title.
I had a exchange of of the graphic card and added in RAM , I guess that is connected to the problem.
Although the game I want to launch is on a external drive – that might be a registry problem?
What can I do?

Answer #1
like you said, you could try to INSTALL the game in your main drive. If the game is portable edition, that should not be the problem.
The exe start and then die. Open your task manager, go to process tab, and then quikly double click the exe. you should see the process apear in task manager.
Answer #2
Either the .exe is corrupted or you don’t have the necessary runtime installed.
Answer #3
this happens sometimes, when you have multiple instances of the same .exe running.
Open you task manager like violetblood said, go to the processes tab and see if you have more than one instance of the .exe running.
if you do, then end all of the instances, and try opening it again.
Alternatively, have you removed the external drive since it was last working? if so, then the drive letter may have changed and Windows is looking for a drive that isn’t there.
you can either make the game portable, or install it on your internal hard drive to remedy this.
Answer #4
Also try running the EXE from command prompt. See if it spits out an error message.
