0.5 second delay when clicking C:/ and D:/ in My Computer

i just installed windows xp and i got this extremely annoying half second delay every time i open c:/ or d:/ and even the external hdd, and also when i click Back or Forward button in windwos explorer
help.

I was going to suggest malware was making explorer.exe lag out , but if its a fresh install it may not be the case , try running all the updates you can as some fixes did help with stability a lot . what service pack are you on ?
plus a malware scan would not hurt either or a hijack this log , feel free to scan or post a log , myself or someone will gladly read it for you.

Half a second is nothing. When i load up my TB external i wait half a min or so cuz its full. I suggest deleting stuff you probably have them full, do disk defrag, allow disk indexing. Reading from HDs is always slow i dont get why people always expect instant speeds, get a SSD then things will seem faster.
