Error 0x00007b

August 18th, 2013

Okay so last night I accidently turned my computer off while it was updating. This evening I turned it back on and I kept getting the 0x00007b errors whenever i tried opening a program, for example google chrome. And to make it even worse my mouse isn’t able to click on anything, i can hoover over stuff but can’t click it. The clicking works within 5-10 seconds after the system starts but then it just stops working.

This is an issue seen in both Windows 7 and VISTA and Microsoft has a “Microsoft Fix it 50470” that can resolve this issue for you on there website, or you can try the following below.
 Exit all Windows-based programs.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you receive the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
Locate and then click one of the following registry subkeys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msahci
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IastorV
In the right pane, right-click Start in the Name column, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
On the File menu, click Exit to close Registry Editor.
