Epson XP-322

January 23rd, 2020

Hey,
I got this Printer, Epson XP-322,
it obviously came with genuine Epson Ink in it,
but when they ran out, I bought alternative ones on eBay,
they seem fine when printing on gloss paper,
but when on normal paper and labels, the ink looks dull,
is this due to the ink or just the way the Printer is?
to be honest even with the genuine ones the print didn’t seem that vibrant on normal paper.
I print directly from Photoshop, and the quality is always on ‘best’ with ‘paper’ selected,
so again, not sure whether this is just the Printer itself,
as the HP Printer I have also prints the same design but more vibrant and that uses alternative Inks.
Anyone else have this Printer and know about it?
EDIT:
Just printed from the iMac ‘Preview’ instead of Photoshop and the print was a lot faster and vibrant :-/
confusing, why is Photoshop not printing at it’s best even though the same settings are being used,
only issue with the Preview option is that it leaves faint lines, probably due to it being printed fast?

I have purchased “generic” ink before from eBay and found that labels or even bar-codes would not scan properly. Once the ink is in there it’s hard to clean. Be careful buying ink, as it may destroy your printer in the long run.
