Ebay & Paypal

August 18th, 2013

Hi guys
i recently bought a divan bed off my partners ebay account, she has shouted me today to say that the bed has devolped loads of mould underneath where the draws are and basically destroyed most of the bedding, shoes and clothes which was under there for stroage as we are a little short on storage at the moment
i have just checked ebay and paypal to try find the seller who sold it us it aint even 12 months old and it is no where to be seen in our purchase history or in the paypal transactions so even if i do have problems with the seller i had no way to open a dispute or anything.
is there any other way to find old transactions i can only date back to the last three months
i have checked our bedroom for signs of damp and mould and none can be seen, i leave the window open all night and have one of them dumidifers

In purchase history there is an archive option try that for older purchases.
Answer #2
All old transactions are archived as mentioned by the poster above.
If you bought the item some time ago, you would have no comeback on the seller unless it was sold as brand new with a warranty, they would just say your house/flat has damp.
Answer #3
How long a time frame are you talking as i think any dispute with paypal and ebay has a 45 day window.
Haven’t used either for years so could be mistaken.
As far as a warranty goes again i don’t think you’d be covered unless sold new by a company.
Do you still have any emails from the purchase so you can see if seller is still registered on ebay.
Other than that i’m not sure how else to offer more advice.

That is correct, unless the seller has offered a warranty.
OP, have you tried using a dampmeter along the bottom of your bedroom walls and skirting board (if you have any). You can buy them on-line for around £10-£20.
