Buying from Ebay using a Paypal

September 1st, 2013

This is my first time using Paypal. So i already deposited some money in my paypal account. When i try to buy something from ebay, after clicking buy this, and logging in to paypal account, it says something like this :
To pay for this purchase right now, link a debit or credit card to your PayPal account.
i cant continue further. What should i do?
This is my first time buying stuffs with paypal and ebay.

Answer #1
well a workaround would be buying a prepaid card
Answer #2
happens to me sometimes, its because you dont have enough funds, so its asking you to add a credit card
Answer #3
linking a credit card to your paypal account is easy and safe.
It actually takes longer for a payment to process if you don’t have a credit card attached.
and if you’re buying on ebay and your payments fail, your reputation severely dimishes
Answer #4
if you from India Then u cant buy with Paypal Balance. u need Credit Card Must.
Answer #5
I’m not from India. And i don’t have a credit card. but i am thinking of making a debit card later. I have enough funds in paypal account. what else could i do besides linking a credit card?

That way you don’t have to bother with credit cards, there accompanying fees, having 1 extra step on your paypal account.
Pop into your bank, create a new account, deposit a few dollars in it, then link it up. Then you just go into your paypal account and request money from your bank account. It can take a few days to clear but is much safer, IMHO.

You have more protection as a consumer if you link and fund Paypal with a VISA/Mastercard than via direct debit with your bank. There are no accompanying fees ? (Unless you use a credit card and don’t pay the bill on time).
If you fund via your bank directly, then you only have Paypal protection – which at times sucksass major time (like having to wait 10 days for a refund on a disputed transaction)
Just get yourself a pre-pay Mastercard if you haven’t got a debit/credit card (although these do have transaction fees).
