Buying from ebay and shipping to another address

August 11th, 2013

I want to buy something for my friend who stays in another country. If i buy from ebay and pay it with paypal, when the item arrives at the address, how does they recognize the correct receiver? Or does this depends on the shipping company that the seller use?
Answer #1
You can have it delivered to whatever name/address you like.
Provided the seller ships to that location.
likely cost extra in postage. You should contact the seller and ask what the postage costs will be to wherever you are sending.
Answer #2
but then, how do they recognize the receiver? do they ask for tracking number or any authentication for that person to receive the item?
Answer #3
You just state the shipping address, that’s it. Add the shipping addy to your Paypal/E-bay a/c, when buying, select that address to deliver to.
As Jock said – some sellers will only ship to confirmed addresses, which is done on your Paypal a/c with your bank/debit/credit card billing address.

They don’t recognize the receiver, only the address. When the package arrives the delivery man will probably quote the name and anyone answering the door can say yes and take the package. The only way you can avoid this is to have it collected in person from the delivery company’s depot when proof of identity will be asked for.
