Usps shipping

If you mailed a package to an incorrect address, it will be returned to sender.
You will then have to re-send the item out to the correct address.
Did you go through Paypal? What service did you use? Please don’t say Moneybookers.
How long ago did you ship it? If it was today and they still haven’t put the package on the truck then you might be able to call up the post office up and tell them your story and ask them politely, be very polite, to try and find your package and hold it for you until tomorrow, when they open.
The person you sent the package to has already paid you, I hope. If he hasn’t, you’re probably screwed and can only depend on that persons honesty in making things right.
If he’s already paid you, then you tell him to get a hold of the address he gave you by mistake and try to get it settled out.
I’ve had this happen to me on Ebay before, the guy paid for his item and I shipped it out quickly, when I came back to put in the tracking info, the buyer had reneged (however you do that on ebay after payment). He was trying to scam me obviously. Luckily, I had just gotten back from the USPS and went back there and told them the story. I was there maybe 20 minutes ago and it took them just as long to find the package.
A little more info would be appreciated if you want the best advice:
How were the funds transferred? Paypal, Western Union? Etc
Is there an escrow service involved?
Did he pay you already and do you have access to those funds or are they on hold?
It was a service from me to a friend so payment is not the issue. It’s the package itself we are worried about. And I shipped it 2 weeks ago and I kept checking tracking number and kept saying the same thing for 2 weeks when I chose 3-5days shipping.so I called them today. They told it hadn’t been scanned in the country is sent it to probably because the country and zip code did not match due to as I said confusions. Then I just found out from my friend couple minutes ago about it and he told me etc etc.. Wrong adress. Leading to the posting of this topic. Sorry if there are some grammar or errors I’m on mobile
Did you miss my post?
Other option is you sent the package to the wrong address, and it was a valid address.
In that case, someone else has your package, and its gone forever. Live n’ learn…
OK. Thanks for all your answers

Not necessarily, depends if the carrier delivers to just the address or the name & address ……. the person at that address could very well just keep it and it’s not the carrier’s fault if the wrong address is on the parcel. Also, if the senders name and address is not on or in the parcel it could be lost forever.
If the wrong addressed house exists and they have your pack but won’t give it back to you, you should find out their phone number (google) and ask for it back. If they act like they have no idea of what you’re talking about, then suggest (keyword: suggest. You don’t want to sound like you are bullying them) that we (use the word ‘we’, not ‘I’) should get the police involved to settle the dispute. Most people that aren’t criminal risk-takers or aren’t too fluent in law (seeing as the police probably wouldn’t even bother with the paperwork, let alone actually going to their house, due to hearsay) the people will probably send back the package. Offer to pay for shipping, once you receive it, of course. Be very polite and courteous and they might return the favor.
If the address doesn’t exist it will be returned to the sender.
The OP has stated the parcel is tracked – do you not have to provide the senders address for a tracked item in USA ? (You do here in UK).
Also if the item has gone to a different country, a tracked item is only tracked through the system until the point it leaves the country – then when it gets delivered.
If it has no return address on it and is undelivered, then the postal service in whatever country should open it to look for an address inside.
There are still some honest people in the world, so if it ends up with the wrong person, they may contact you to arrange something.

Not necessarily. If I buy something from Romania and get a tracking number (TN) and the package then goes through the Royal Mail before it heads to the US, in my experience, the TN is the same the whole way through. The only trick is finding the official post office of whatever country your package is in, and then finding where the tracking info page is located. Thankfully, some of the non-English post office websites have a language option for English… good to bookmark if you do business regularly with international countries. The original country the package was shipped from should have the same TN the whole the way until it arrives at the final destination. Of course, unless you go through a re-mailer. In which case, I’m sure they would provide you with your new, correct TN, if they wanted to stay in business for more than a few weeks.
Well my adress is in it(I’m the sender)and as I said there was some confusion in the adress the country and zip code didn’t match but the adress did. And funny thing is I chose 3-5 days shipping and that was on the 24th and they said it left the US on the 25th but still hasn’t arrived in Ghana so they are investigating
