DVD-R/RW problem

Well I cant open any CD in my PC … only one , one that I have burned on this PC a time ago ..
for the rest , nothing is working ..
I have a lot of burned cd’s ( shhut dont go to the POLICe please ) and nothing is working :/
it says : Please insert the CD
any suggestions ? please help ah yes : I have also tried a CD from a magazine … nothing

i think theres something wrong inside it you better replace

depending on how technical you are, take the drive out and test it in someone elses PC. If it works then there is nothing wrong with the drive, if it doesnt then the drive is knacked. Also might be good to test your CDs in someone else PC to see if they work, if they dont then the cd is knacked.

Well all the CD were working on my old pc .. I had never problems , I will try to check this one on an another PC pi0~~♥

this is really getting weird these days cos i m also facing this same problem!
ok after going frm above solutions, try this thing:
first back up your WINDOWS REGISTRY !!
DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER UNLESS U BACK UP UR REGISTRY
then in registry editor (regedit) , find these 2 things
lower filter & upper filter , delete the entries for these
and close the reg editor
restart the pc FOR SURE
and then try reading the CD’s
or else get it repaired , it might be a serious firmware problem , and prolly u have to get the drive replaced or stuff!
if its in WARRANTY then y to worry , just go for WARRANTY stuff give the drive for repair under warranty , i m sure this problem if not solved by upper n lower filters , then the company people will not be able to solve it either get it replaced
AND NEVER EVER DO A FIRMWARE UPGRADE , cos warranty may go void, or ask the company/retailer first!
