Dvd quality and burning related question

July 25th, 2016

Ok, I like to burn my dvds so my family can watch them too, I have a 42″ HDTV that I watch them on, so I want the best picture possible. In the past the 700 mb movies are low quality and look bad.
I useually try to find 4.xx movies, aka ISOs or IMGs of the dvd, it has the menu and other stuff, but I mainly like the quality.
Now, if I download one that’s only 7-8 parts but it says it’s a dvd rip, is it the same quality exact quality as the img ones, or is the quality lowered?
Such as this

Thanks.

Answer #1
those films are dvd rips (as opposed to a camera in a cinema) but they still have been compressed into divx or xvid which is the film equivalent of mp3
Answer #2
None of the links I posted were movies recorded with a cam were they? O_O
Just one was an ISO and the other was 7 avis.
So basically they’re the same quality?
And do I need to convert them useing xconverttodvd or w/e to burn them to dvd?
Answer #3
those movies are xvids or divx. they have been compressed otherwise they would be in about 20 parts.
when they are being compressed they lose quality. in my opinion divx/xvid gives good quality but i have never watched them on a hd tv
If you want full uncopressed movies try searching the movies ection for dvdr or dvd-r
Answer #4
Yea I do, but the selection is very slim.
And they have many of the 7 part ones
Anyway thanks.
