DVD Copying with Nero
January 23rd, 2020
There are a lot of problems I can foresee with this, such as a DVD being 7-8GB’s instead of 4.4GB’s.
But let’s say that you have a normal sized DVD from blockbuster, can Nero itself copy that DVD to another DVD+/-R?
You can rip the movie using several different programs. I’m afraid that Nero is one of the worst programs for the task. You can use software such as DVDFab and ShrinkDVD to copy the DVD. Also, using DVD Decrypter, you can rip the movie from the DVD, and any part of it that you want (including bonus scenes, etc). Also, you can make an exact image of the DVD using Alcohol120%/MagicISO/UltraISO/PowerISO/*insert program name here*. This will make a perfect copy of the DVD. All software are acquirable here. Good luck mate ^_^
Most commercial DVD films are dual layer – ie. nearly 9GB in size. I don’t know about you, but I have a dual layer DVD re-writer, so if you get some dual layer DVDRs you can copy the whole thing directly, no need for shrinking or any of that rubbish
All retail/rental DVD movies have copy and region protection…
Therefore Nero ,by itself will not touch them (try it !)
The options are to use a copying program that gets rid of the protection by itself eg.
DVD Shrink
DVD Fab Platinum
or
run an app. in the background that removes copy protection eg
AnyDVD
Region and CCS free
Then you can use apss like
Clone DVD
Nero Recode
to do the job….
You can still have any dvd or region and ccs free running in the background while using dvd shrink etc, if necessary..
All of the above have the options to copy the complete DVD or just select the main movie and anything you want.
And they can all be set to burn to a single layer (DVD 5),and compress if necessary ,or to a dual layer (DVD 9)..
