DVD burner will not open?

Guys my dvd burner will not open on my desktop, and even sticking a pin in the small hole will not open it. I can hear it trying to open, but it is as if it is stuck. So, any thoughts on whether it is completely broken, or would it be any need to open it up and check it out.

Disconnect it, use the pin to open. If it opens, reconnect and try to open it again. If it fails you might need a new drive. Be sure to look for trash if you do get it open.
