Does anyone else get this Problem?

I start off at 37GB then download 10GB for example and after I delete the 10GB I get 35GB back, then maybe I’ll download another 5GB then delete it then I’ll get 33GB back.
It keeps going down until like a week later it will go back up to 37GB by itself, does anyone know why it happens? Does it confuse the hard drive or something?
Really, it isn’t a problem for me, I just find it odd.
do you have system restore turned on? could be that… could also just be the system swap file
