DLspeed in JDownloader slow with premium fileserve

August 23rd, 2013

Hi guys,
I’ve always used a premium fileserve account and Jdownlaoder, and I always had 2-3 mb/s speed. That was in windows XP 32-bit.
A month ago I bought Windows 7 64-bit, and while using the same premium fileserve account, I’m only getting speeds of 150-350 kb/s 95% of the time, and the speed always goes down to 60-80 kb/s when the download is almost finished too..
What I also noticed is that when I do have the normal 2-3mb/s (happened only once so far), and I try downloading mutiple parts at the same time, the speeds are so different .. from 1 part going at 1.5mb/s, another part at 1mb/s and the last 5 parts at around 100-200-300 kb/s.
In windows XP 32-bit the speeds would always be pretty much the same, I don’t know if this is caused by the same problem, but just letting you know.
I checked my premium account and it’s totally fine. I checked Jdownloader settings and everything is as it should be AFAIK.
The account got recognized and approved by JD and got unlimited speed etcetc.
I tried messing with the settings here and there, putting the “max con.” and “max dls” to max (20) as suggested by googleresults, but to no avail.
After installing windows 7 64-bit I didn’t change a thing hardware-wise or connection-wise, everything is the same as before.
To be sure I just did a speedtest for my connection and it says 27~mb/s.
So I really don’t see where this slow downloading speed is coming from, if anyone has any ideas or tips, you’re welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Lucenzo.

As they say,Don’t shoot the DL manager! It’s quite possible that your ISP has started doing traffic shaping!
I suggest you test the speed late at night (12AM+) or early morning and see how it goes,You might be surprised.

Well, while downlaoding the ubuntu ISO file I had 3.3 MB/s..

I just tested this (it’s 01.27 am now here), and indeed, I was downloading a file at 3~mb/s again. Thanks for pointing this out !
But just one more thing, I tried downloading 10 parts at the same time, and as expected the download speeds were differing again like mad.. 1 part was at 3.1 mb/s, while all others were at ~50 kb/s. It used to spread out the download speeds simultainously.
It also takes more then a minute now to load everything and start the downloading once I click “go on all”. I remember it being a process of seconds in the past. :/
Could I alter this with settings somewhere ?
