dangit my ipod or any exteernal Hard drives wont show up

i have a new ipod nano and i have a dv 6000 hp laptop this laptop has problems it sometimes gets the bluye screen of death it happens out of the blue or when i restart so what i did to kinda fix this prob is get windows xp dark edition v6 and yeah it helped alot now i dont get the screen and yea prob solvedm kinda i sometimes get it randomly now i cant connect my ipod or hard drive if i connect the hard drive i get the blue screen and when i connect my ipod it wont show up i tried gettin an updated itunes i tried instralling the drivers on the device maneger and still nothing please help me i need new musik im going on a 3 day car trip trommorow and i will die!!!!!
im actually thinking of regetting vista as my os =[

I’m not sure what exactly is wrong, but you could try removing any traces of your ipod (uninstall all apps associated with your ipod and roll back drivers and do a registry clean) then restart you computer and set it up as if you just bought the ipod today after never having one. As for your hard drive, i have no idea. All i can think of is being a laptop, it may overheat very easily. I hope i helped and if not, i hope for your sake, you get it fixed and get music for your 3 day car trip

i installed vista and the external hard drive is working but the ipod still is not !! =[ please help

lets see. install the drivers that came with the laptop.
then it might be from your ipod’s cable! try another it with another cable if it is available
