Corrupt file error

August 12th, 2013

Lately I have got “corrupt file error” after downloading files and using winrar to extract them, so when I try to extract the files, I get an error message. I use my own wifi, but there are no cutting issues. I use IDM for dl.
If someone can help…

Answer #1
Verify the password is correct. Winrar isn’t able to tell if the file is corrupt or if the password is incorrect unfortunately.
Answer #2
passwords ok. That happens with files that even don’t have passwords.
Answer #3
maybe the file is corrupt what you downloaded?? find another file and see if that is o.k or can you point me to the links that you downloaded then maybe i can try to see if it works
Answer #4
The network could be the issue. Sometimes if you don’t have a good connection you get corrupted downloads.
Answer #5
Try repairing it with winrar, it can be fixed IF there was a recovery record.
If it cannot be fixed, there is nothing you can do, but redownload the file.
Answer #6
Select the archive which shows error and “repair” it in winrar. Or else i have to download that part again.
Answer #7
Try using a different download manager.
Ive had bad experiences with IDM
Answer #8
It could be a multitude of things from your internet connection, method of download, to your hard drive.
Have you tried downloading the same files to another pc/lappy on the same wireless connection to rule out your pc ? Also try downloading the files through a browser as opposed to IDM.
