Computer Crash

So my ‘studio’ computer crashed, with, aside from anything else, like 80% of my lyrics on it …. Please for the love of GAWD tell me there is some way to restore it when it comes up and says Operating System Not Found.
*Note, my freind is having this problem and it would be great if you could help

ya take it to a repair shop and have them salvage the hard drive

It mean there is a very dirty virus on bootable which they corrupt your OS, what you can do just install the Operating system on another drive like D: or etc, after install copy all your data from the C: drive, this will help your files to copy on the safe location. I advice you when you install the fresh OS you just install the norton Ghost 14 backup the “My Computer” and kept the image on safe location, than download the bootable norton ghost CD which is easily available on this forum under apps section. Whenever your windows corrupt use norton ghost to restore all your data at the beginning or when the backup was taken on which date. Sorry for wrong english.

what ur saying it wont back itup throw on a new os only if you get the upgrade option if you dont then heres what you do.
You are going to plug in a secondary harddrive or if yyou have a secondary one use that. Install windows then once u have everything running you should be able to acess your other hard drives even though they are virus filled you should be able to acess your lyrics because those are all files.

Like they said, 1.install windows on another hard drive. 2.Download a good anti-virus program ( NOD32 )
3.Start your computer on safe mode and do a full scan with NOD32 ( that should remove all the viruses )
4.Start your computer normally -> head to the corrupted hard disk -> copy all the files you need to your external hard disk.
5.Format your corrupted hard disk.

If your OS is XP insert the OS CD and do a repair install ……… all your stuff should be left where it is if it hasn’t been corrupted.
You could also try GetDataBack using Hirens Boot CD.

if you dont get any of the jargon that is being spoken on here and your lyrics are precious to you, go to a computer store and ask to them to backup your stuff or
if you do understand whats being spoken and you get everything sorted remember to make backups like every week or every month.

Get out the hard drive, try restore it from another PC.
