Can’T open a word file

i have a a file with ” rtf ” extension. its size is 8 MB. after i rant it, i waited about 20 minutes but it didnt open. it halted and i closed it. should i wait more or is there another way that i can open it ?

.rtf is a “wordpad” extension so try it in wordpad
it don’t open in there it’s prob a bad file

it’s just Rich Text Format – if wordpad won’t open it, then it’s probably corrupt.

What is the source of this file?
Did you try to open it with another program like word?

it could be a data file renamed even ?
8mb of txt is alot maybe ur pc is too slow to load it all
