Can’t Delete File Issue

April 22nd, 2018

When I tried to delete a video, I get a message saying that I can’t because it is opened in Windows Explorer, even with only that windows open. I’ve copied the file to a portable HDD but the same message came up so it’s stuck to both my HDD. What can I do?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I’ll try an unlocker app. But why would it be locked in the first place? All the other episodes that I downloaded work fine.

Go to Task manager > Processes if wmplayer.exe is there click on it and then click on End process or any other player that you used for playing that file close it from processes. Afterwards try deleting that file again. First of all just try rebooting your pc.

Thanks everyone. The Unlocker tool as mentioned above was successful.
I’m still curious to know why it was locked in the first place? I had done 2 computer restarts and checked for any video processes that might be using the video – there were none.

The file being locked can mean many things. The file could be locked because the program used is running.
The file could be locked because Windows acts like it’s an important file, and there are many more reasons.
