Can’t copy files to mp3 player

February 5th, 2020

“the directory or file cannot be created”. The player is formatted in FAT32, its a 1gb, windows says it has 332MB of space left. But, I keep getting this error when I try to copy and paste files over to the root. Any ideas?

does it have a “readonly” lock on the side?
if not, just copy all the content to your computer, format the player and copy your songs/movie back to the player.
Answer #2
in FAT32, you have a file transfer limit, see if the file is bigger than what FAT32 allows. FAT32 has a file size limit of around 4.0GB
try backing up all the data, and formatting the mp3 player’s data, then transferring it all back. and as Matsumoto said, check your permissions on the drive to make sure your able to read/write/modify the contents of the player’s disk

Yea I found a fix for this, I made a folder and it worked. i think fat32 has file restrictions. thanks all.
