Can websites detect or tell if you’re using a VPN

September 7th, 2013

I know one website I’ve come across denied me access upon website load claiming it blocks proxies/vpn etc. But just curious If I’ve been banned from a website multiple times & still carry my usual posting mannerisms that there’s away they can keep me out for good
No serious rule breaks, Just they don’t like my critical opinion & leeching habbits
thanks
Vpn Client: OpenVpn
Vpn Server: real-vpn

they can know you are using a VPN but they can’t know you are the one that they banned or who is behind that VPN connection.

As I know they can detect Proxy easily. It is not so easy for VPN. I know from my experience. You know US TVs broadcast their shows only to Canada and US. To watch these shows outside of USA and Canada, I must use VPN. Proxy doesnt work.

I got us port proxy’s to work on MTV(US), Not sure if it works with web proxy. Maybe because web proxy doesn’t give you a specific location such as the one required ?
