Buying a Hard Disk

August 5th, 2016

Hello,
I am from India. I am planning to buy a Western Digital 1 TeraByte Harddisk , which has 7200 rpm and 64 Mb cache . Just for the sake of reference , the model number is WD10EARS . It is a cavair green series harddisk. I just want to know if I should go with it. Is western digital good enough ?
Regards,
Saurabh .

I use Western Digital, they are a pretty good manufacturer, I have a 500gb cavier green series for the past year or so and no problems yet, runs very smoothly.
Answer #2
i am using western digital and they seem great. Better than other companies in my mind. And you can afford 64mb cache?? Jeez
Answer #3
I’ve heard Western Digital is the more reliable brand. If you don’t care what’s on it, you can just look for a cheap with a big warranty (samsung)
Answer #4
Westren Digital is a good choice to make.
bare in mind, its always less then what is says on the wrapper
Answer #5
Buy warranty for it and it should be fine. My first external which was a 1TB WD died after 1 year and half of use. Back then they only gave 1 year warranty, so i suggest you buy some cuz sometimes they last 1 year fine and out of nowhere might die.

yeah, for the price diff I would go with the 1.5 or 2tb, I have bought a few of the WD cavair green 2tb and have had no issues so far. with a 1tb drive you can expect about 930gb of actual storage space
