Burning an image or visible text to a CD/DVD-R

Yes, I know about lightscribe and labelflash, not what I want. I know it would eventually only be possible with an empty disc.
When you burn data to most blank discs, you can easily tell which part is burned or empty. What I need is “upside down lightscribe”, or in other words, software that’ll burn mumbojumbo data in a fashion that resembles text in that dark burned part of the disc.
I googled and not much comes up. One istructable that wasn’t ever finished.
Any ideas?
no such thing exists. As you say there were plans at some point but nothing ever made it to the consumer side that i know off. Lightscribe was the only thing, and even that is no longer being produced (nearly) all lighscribe drives and blank media manufacturers have stopped/are stopping production on those things
