bioshock sound problems

Hello all i am still having problems with bioshock, its a great game, but still sometimes when i pick up dollars, it crashes to windows… I have turned reverb off, and the creative console
I am running on Winxp All of my drivers are up to date… I tried patching and using updated crack but it wont even let me load so i reverted back to 1.0
if anyone has any ideas or solutions pleeeaase lemme know its greatly appreciated!!

BioShock 1.0 constantly crashed on me, I changed the sound output to ‘Pro Logic’ (after trying all the things you did) and the game started to work ok. I press ‘F8’ (quick save) all the time just in case it crashes.
The strange thing is that I played the game a second time and it didn’t crash once.

Pro Logic? where is that located? when you say it worked ok, how often would u say it would crash? i am contantly doing the quick save also, but i do that anyways in all my games lol Thanks for the reply

In the Audio Options you can change the speaker setup. The game would crash around every 10 minutes, or like you, when picking things up.

every ten minutes holy sh*t dang thats a lot i hate when games crash

wow well it works like a charm i played for almost an hour this morning after trying that method, saving and closing back to windows, then reloaded and not one single crash, picking up plenty of cash! not one problem that is grrreaat thanks alot !

No problem, it was driving me nuts as well. I tried every combination possible until I got to one that was stable. Normally I would have given up, but this is such a fantastic game that I wanted to finish it.
You can get 2 different endings to the game (that I know of) depending on what you do after killing a ‘Big Daddy’. You can either ‘Harvest’ or ‘Rescue’ the little girl to get more ‘Adam’. I’ve tried it both ways, one ending was cheesy and limp wristed, the other hinted at a possible sequel to the game (I think). I won’t tell you which one.

haha yeah me too, just too good of a game to give up on, oh its crashing again but not half as often sooo defintately bareable… cool thanks for the intel on the endings, hmm i am not sure which i am gonna do more of… i love the camera feature its pretty cool i got it last night lol again thanks a bunch!
