Best way to get XBMC on TV ?

I know you can get some boxes that can install it but not sure which is best.
any help appreciated
Jumbo, I have been using XBMC for a little over a year now. I first had an pivos xios running linux (better than android platform for the pivos). The box had many glitches and didn’t run too well but I dealt with it. A few months ago I bought the amazon fire tv for it, and honestly it is the fastest and best thing I ever got. And, don’t be afraid of setting it up yourself it took me 10 minutes max to get xbmc gotham 13.2 (latest version) on it. Checkout tvaddons.ag for best addons and easy set up. I suggest grabbing a small cheap computer – even a celeron is good for XBMC.
Just make sure it has a graphics card with hdmi output and you’re fine.
I have an old i7 running xbmc, mounted behind the TV, hdmi into the TV and wireless mouse and keyboard to use it (and play games in 55 inch glory!)
Portable XBMC, so i can update it easily and transfer things across using AnyDesk (from the laptop)..
All working well!

you do a [coder] before the link and a [/coder] after the link (change coder to code), or just highlight the link and click the Code button
i preordered the fireTV which is released here next week in UK.
But ive had to cancel for now because i believe the latest updates cant be rooted correct ?
I might have to end up getting one imported which can be rooted

Ahh – gotcha, so it’s only any good for people with older firmwares, not the new-new stuff.. sorry..
